SERIES 1: EMPATHY
Series 1 of Lawyer's Coach was recorded over the first lockdown in the UK (April and May 2020). It perhaps then comes as no surprise that empathy was the theme that united all of our guests. From the need for empathy with employees, in the case of Jonathan Grigg; the use of empathy in service delivery, with Natalie Murray; and the possibilities for innovation with Nir Golan, empathy shone through as a must have.
EP1: LEADERSHIP IN THE TIME OF COVID-19
Jonathan, as the Managing Partner at Boyes Turner, takes charge of the firm's strategic vision, overseeing both its daily operations and overall management. His commitment lies in fostering an environment that nurtures talent and encourages the growth of innovative ideas at all levels within the firm.
EP2: THE QUEST FOR BALANCE
Geraldine Atlee is a qualified solicitor who currently leads the Legal and Business Affairs team at BBC Films. In this role, she is responsible for managing the business aspects of strategy, development, production financing, as well as the sales and distribution of film projects.
In this podcast episode she shares her journey to the BBC, why she had too much personality to stay in private practice, and why she was one of the first in her industry to seek work-life balance.
EP3: FROM CLIENT TO CUSTOMER
Nir Golan is a lawyer with a passion for innovation. Nir has worked with tech companies and start ups. He believes that innovation can't just focus on technology; the human element is key.
EP4: THE ART OF LAW
Natalie Murray is a lawyer looking to do things differently. She created Lawbox to bring a new concept of legal service delivery to the most regulated of industries. Natalie is part of the Legal Design movement that is shaking up the legal sector.
Ep6: EMPATHY AND LEGAL
Empathy has been a theme throughout this first series. Joss Mathieson describes how leaders can develop and use empathy to power their businesses. Claire and Oliver think about how this is relevant to lawyers and their relationships.
